Wpematico full content 2. 9

The Robotico has been busy in the workshop. WPeMatico Full Content 2.9 is now available, and it’s a maintenance-focused release that makes the add-on faster on every article, safer where it matters, and noticeably smoother to work with day to day.

If you run campaigns that pull the complete article from each source URL — replacing the truncated RSS summary with the real, full content — this update is worth installing today.

Why this release matters

Full Content sits in the critical path of every campaign item: it fetches the source page, extracts the body, the title, the date, the author and the Open Graph image. So even small efficiency and reliability gains compound across hundreds or thousands of imported posts. Version 2.9 targets exactly that.

What’s improved

  • Faster fetching on most sites. Smarter character-encoding detection now resolves correctly without an extra network request per article — fewer round trips, shorter fetch times across your whole campaign.
  • Lighter processing. Items that only use the Open Graph image now skip unnecessary content-processing steps, so they finish quicker.
  • Hardened security. Stronger validation when uploading config files and when author accounts are created automatically from article bylines.
  • More reliable config handling. Reading and saving site-config files is now stable across different server setups.
  • Faster editor feedback. Domain validation in the config editor verifies the format instantly before the DNS check, so invalid names are caught right away.
  • PHP 8.2+ ready. The mb_convert_encoding() deprecation notice is gone — Unicode characters are now preserved as-is via an XML encoding declaration, with no entity conversion.

What’s fixed

The Open Graph image options received the most attention in this release:

  • Add it above the content” now inserts the actual Open Graph image from the source page (not the RSS feed image) and downloads it correctly when image-download options are enabled.
  • Only if no image in content” no longer overrides the existing content image as the featured image.
  • Image-above-content and other sub-options now correctly follow their parent setting instead of firing when disabled.

Plus a round of editor and UI reliability fixes:

  • The Preview Meta data tab now displays Open Graph and Twitter card tags correctly instead of showing blank.
  • Config files load reliably when clicked, and saving an existing file no longer returns a false domain-validation error.
  • The Visual / HTML / Meta data tabs in the preview area respond after loading a result.
  • The Full Content settings tab displays correctly after recent WPeMatico core updates.
  • Move to Uploads” now detects folders and files correctly on more server configurations.

Compatibility: WPeMatico Full Content 2.9 requires WPeMatico Free Core 2.8.21 version or higher.

A track record of frequent updates

Releases like this one are the norm, not the exception. WPeMatico and its add-ons are maintained continuously — kept compatible with the latest PHP and WordPress versions, refined for performance, and patched quickly when issues surface. An active license isn’t just access to a download; it’s access to that ongoing work.

Keep your license active

To install 2.9 and every future update, your license needs to be active. Make sure your license key is added in the Licenses tab under your WPeMatico Settings. Renew your WPeMatico Full Content license to stay current on updates, security fixes and priority support.

Get everything with Essentials

Running more than one add-on — or thinking about it? The WPeMatico Essentials membership bundles Full Content together with the rest of the premium add-ons under a single license, so you get every tool and every update without buying them one by one.
