Why all three plugins at once?
These problems lived at the seams between the core and the add-ons — most of them around downloading images from the source. Fixing them properly meant updating all three plugins together, in lockstep. That’s why this release ships as a set, and why you should update in this order:

🧩 WPeMatico core 2.8.22 — the foundation (free)
- No more random duplicate posts. Overlapping cron passes could re-take a campaign that was still being processed and publish the same items twice. Now each campaign is claimed at the start of its run and its next run is scheduled immediately, so a concurrent cron pass can never fetch the same items again. We also closed a second, rarer path: items are now recorded as fetched before heavy per-item image work, so an interrupted run (timeout or out-of-memory) can’t leave a duplicate behind.
- Campaigns no longer freeze on a broken image. A single unresponsive source image used to stall an entire run for minutes. Image downloads now give up quickly and move on, while audio and video keep a longer allowance so large media still downloads in full.
- Smarter, fairer scheduling. When several campaigns share the same schedule, they now run most-overdue-first, so no campaign keeps getting skipped while slower ones run. A campaign that’s already running is reliably skipped instead of being started a second time.
- A “Running” indicator you can trust. The status in the campaigns list, editor and dashboard now reflects the real run state during scheduled (cron) runs — not just manual ones. Orphaned locks from an interrupted run auto-clear after your “Timeout running campaign” setting, or you can release them instantly with Clear/Break Campaign. Manual runs are now blocked with a clear message while the same campaign is already running.
- A cleaner admin notice. The “Professional add-on is out of date” notice no longer shows leftover script code as plain text.

🖼️ WPeMatico Professional 3.6 — “Draw title on featured image”, reborn
If you draw post titles onto your featured images, this is a must-have update — and if you don’t have Professional yet, it’s one of the most popular reasons people upgrade.
- Major freeze fix. The add-on used to download the source image a second time just to draw the title on it — and on some servers that extra download could hang until the campaign timed out, stalling the whole queue. That redundant download is gone: the title is now drawn on the image the core already downloaded.
- Up to several times faster per post. The featured image is processed in place, reusing the same media item instead of creating a second attachment and regenerating every thumbnail size twice. Less CPU, less disk I/O, noticeably faster runs.
- Cleaner media library. No more duplicate or orphaned image attachments piling up for every processed post.
- Rock-solid with Full Content. The old worst case — Full Content supplying an og:image and Professional re-downloading it — is eliminated. The image is downloaded once and the title drawn on it locally.
- Consistent title size at any resolution. The font size now scales in proportion to each image’s real width, so your titles take up the same share of the image whether the source is 800px or 2560px wide. (Fine-tune with the new

- Featured-image downloads can no longer stall a campaign. When a source’s featured or social (og:image) image is slow or unreachable, Full Content now times out quickly and continues — keeping your scheduled runs flowing.
This builds on the big Full Content 2.9 release from earlier this month, which brought faster encoding detection, smarter Open Graph handling, security hardening and a long list of preview and config-editor fixes.

For the fixes to work together, yes — update WPeMatico core to 2.8.22 first, then Professional to 3.6, then Full Content to 2.9.1. Core 2.8.22 requires Professional 3.6 or higher, and Professional 3.6 requires core 2.8.22 or higher, so updating in that order keeps every version requirement aligned.
Will updating break my existing campaigns?

I don’t use “Draw title on featured image” — is the Professional update still worth it?
