We’ve just taken a big step toward WPeMatico 3.0. Your add-ons are ready today, the WPeMatico 2.9 beta is open to everyone who wants to try it first, and the official release lands on WordPress.org on October 8.
WPeMatico 2.9 is a major version. We rebuilt the parts of the plugin you touch every day — the dashboard, the settings, the tools, the add-ons page — and changed hundreds of things under the hood. That’s exactly why we’re doing this release in stages: so you can upgrade with confidence, on your schedule.
📅 What’s happening, and when
- Today — all add-ons updated. New releases of Professional (3.7), Full Content, GPT Spinner and every other WPeMatico extension are available now from etruel.com. They work with the current WPeMatico 2.8.27 and with 2.9.
- Today — WPeMatico 2.9 beta on GitHub. If you’d like to explore 2.9 before everyone else, you can download it right now and test it on a staging or development site.
- October 8 — WPeMatico 2.9 on WordPress.org. The official release, with the full release notes, delivered as a regular update to every site.
✅ Step 1: Update your add-ons today
This is the one step we recommend to everyone. Updating your add-ons now is safe on your current WPeMatico version, and it means that when 2.9 arrives, everything is already in place — no waiting, no notices, no surprises.
- Make sure your license is active. Go to WPeMatico › Settings › Licenses and check that each add-on shows a valid license.
- Update from your dashboard. Head to Dashboard › Updates or the Plugins screen and update every WPeMatico add-on. If an update doesn’t show up yet, click Check again.
- Prefer manual? Every release is also available for download from your account at etruel.com.
🧪 Step 2 (optional): Try the 2.9 beta
Because 2.9 is a major version, please treat the GitHub build as a beta: install it on a staging or development copy of your site, not on production. Most sites will run it without a hitch — but your live site deserves the final release.
- Back up your staging site (files and database).
- Update your add-ons first (Step 1). 2.9 checks each add-on’s version and pauses the features of any that are too old for it.
- Download the beta ZIP from the assets of the latest pre-release on GitHub — use the
wpematico.zipfile, not the “Source code” archive. - Go to Plugins › Add New › Upload Plugin, select the ZIP and choose Replace current with uploaded.
- Tell us what you find. Open an issue on GitHub or a support ticket mentioning “2.9 beta”. Every report before October 8 makes the final release better for everyone.
When 2.9 goes live on WordPress.org, beta sites receive it as a normal update — nothing to reinstall.

❓ Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to update my add-ons now if I’m still on WPeMatico 2.8?
Yes. The new add-on releases are built to work with WPeMatico 2.8.27 and 2.9. Updating now is exactly what we recommend.
Will my campaigns keep working after I upgrade to 2.9?
Yes. Your campaigns, feeds and settings carry over as they are. Nothing needs to be recreated or reconfigured.
What if I upgrade the core and forget an add-on?
Nothing is deactivated behind your back. 2.9 pauses that add-on’s features and shows a notice telling you exactly which version puts it right. Update it and you’re back in business.
I installed the beta. Do I need to do anything on October 8?
No. The final 2.9 reaches your site as a regular update from WordPress.org.
Should I install the beta on my live site?
We recommend a staging or development copy. If you don’t have one, simply update your add-ons today and wait for October 8 — you’ll get the same 2.9, with every beta report already addressed.
