How to disable the sharing feature of WPeMatico with Jetpack?

If you use Jetpack Social to share your posts on social networks, it can also share every post created by WPeMatico, because for WordPress they are new published posts like any other. A user kindly shared with us how to avoid it.

Why It Happens
Shared connections.

In Jetpack Social, each social network connection belongs to the administrator who created it. If the connection is marked as shared, any Administrator, Editor or Author can use it, so the posts they publish are shared automatically. That includes the posts that WPeMatico publishes in their name.

How to Avoid It
Two steps.

  1. Keep the connection private. Log in with the account that created the connection, go to Jetpack β†’ Social, open the options of the connection and uncheck Mark the connection as shared.
  2. Publish the campaign posts with another user. Edit the campaign and, in the Options for this campaign box, choose in Author a user who is not the owner of the connection.

This way, your own posts are still shared, but the posts created by WPeMatico are not.

Note: Repeat the second step in every campaign whose posts you don’t want to share.
