If you’ve been using theย Draw Post Title on Featured Imageย feature introduced in 3.4, this update is a must-have. WPeMatico Professional 3.5 takes that feature from “promising” to production-ready โ with a full global settings page, per-campaign overrides, real Bold & Italic font rendering, and a brand-new professional font library.
Plus a fix you’ve been waiting for: the feature was running on every campaign run, even when disabled. That’s gone.
๐ผ๏ธ Title on Featured Image โ Now Production Ready
This is the headline of 3.5. Everything you need to brand your auto-published posts visually is now in place.
One global configuration, per-campaign flexibility
Set your default font, size, style, and title-cut rules once in the new dedicated settings page โ and every campaign picks them up automatically. When a campaign needs something different, override just that campaign independently. Global defaults, local control.
Real Bold & Italic โ not CSS simulation
In 3.4, bold and italic were applied as style hints. In 3.5, selecting Bold or Italic loads the actual font variant file โ Montserrat-Bold.ttf, OpenSans-Italic.ttf, and so on. The text rendered onto your images is now typographically correct, not approximated.
5 professional font families, 4 variants each
The limited font set from 3.4 has been replaced with a full professional library:
- Montserratย โ Regular, Bold, Italic, BoldItalic
- Open Sansย โ Regular, Bold, Italic, BoldItalic
- Playfair Displayย โ Regular, Bold, Italic, BoldItalic
- Black Ops Oneย โ Regular
- Robotoย โ Regular, Bold, Italic, BoldItalic
Title cut control
Long titles don’t always fit gracefully on an image. You can now trim the title to a specific word count or character count before it’s drawn โ keeping your visual output clean regardless of how long the original title is.
โจ Improvements
Random Galleries โ smarter image selector. Previously, reopening the media library after saving a gallery started from scratch. Now, your already-selected images appear at the top of the grid with their checkmarks active. No more hunting for the images you’ve already chosen.
๐ Fixes
- Title-on-image was running on every fetchย even when the global toggle was off. Fixed โ the feature now correctly respects the global enable/disable state.
- PHP TypeError with external font URLsย โ fixed a type error triggered when an external URL was used as a font source in the title-on-image settings.
- Minor CSS cleanupย in the Images metabox.
