How to use Image Rename?

When WPeMatico stores the images of the posts on your site, they keep the file names of the source site, which are often codes like IMG_20240512_1033.jpg. The Image Renamer of the Professional add-on gives them a name based on the title of each post, which is clearer and better for SEO.

Enable the Image Renamer
In each campaign.

  1. Edit the campaign and go to the Options for images box. Make sure that Store images locally is checked: only the images stored on your site can be renamed.
  2. Under Advanced Options, check Enable Image Renamer.
  3. In Rename the images to, write the new name. Click {slug} or {title} to add them.
  4. Click Update to save the campaign.

The Name of the Images
With {slug} and {title}.

  • {slug} and {title} β€” are replaced by the title of the post, ready to be used as a file name. With {title} it is all in lowercase with hyphens. {slug} is the default value.
  • You can add your own text, for example {slug}-photo.
  • Don’t write the extension: each image keeps its own (.jpg, .png…).
  • If a file with that name already exists, WordPress adds a number at the end, so a post with many images gets …-photo.jpg, …-photo-1.jpg, …-photo-2.jpg.
